The bar and the dock have to live inside the Omarchy shell, so they stay shell plugins. OmaCraft manages them from the outside, through the same routes the plugins and Omarchy already offer: their own commands, IPC and config files, rewritten in place.

This site is built the same way. Every workspace up top is one of OmaCraft's pages, and every effect on it is the real thing, running in your browser:

  • Wallpapers: pick a background and the whole site re-themes from its colours.
  • Boot Splash: TheDraw fonts parsed from the original .tdf files, with omascii's intro effects.
  • Window Transitions: the plugin's 47 presets, with their own curves and durations.
  • Burn My Windows: close or reopen any window here with an effect.
  • Main Bar: the bar above is yours. Change its look and colours, or drag its widgets around.

Keys work too: 1…7 switch workspaces, W closes the focused window, F fullscreens it, / opens the launcher, ? shows the rest.

Close any window with W or its ×: it goes with one of your closing effects, at random. Closed windows wait in the tab at the bottom of the screen and come back with an opening effect.

On Omarchy, or any Arch system with the Omarchy shell:

❯ git clone https://github.com/SK33M/omacraft.git
❯ cd omacraft
❯ bin/install

bin/install builds OmaCraft and installs it as the omacraft package with makepkg -si, so pacman pulls in what it needs: Qt 6 and its web view, Python with Pillow, Node.js, archiso and squashfs-tools. It then shows up in the app launcher.

Installing links a plugin's code into ~/.config/omarchy/plugins. Removing disables it, then removes the link, or moves a real folder to ~/.local/share/omacraft/stash.

Switching on and off edits shell.json in place, touching only that plugin's entries.

Wallpaper colours reach OmaCraft's parts. A theme-set hook runs omacraft --sync-colors after every theme switch, so the border gradient follows each new wallpaper while OmaCraft is closed.
